A useful archive can explain where a claim came from—and change it when the evidence calls for a correction.

Our evidence standard

Articles use cited historical documents, Disney reference material, dated announcements and clearly identified firsthand or secondary reporting. Memories can point toward research, but do not establish an exact date or cause by themselves. Wikipedia helps locate legacy references; it does not independently verify a claim for which it cites this website.

Material claims are mapped to sources. The text and its evidence record are bound to a review hash, so a later edit cannot silently inherit an earlier approval. Independent automated review is part of this workflow; we do not describe it as professional human fact-checking. An article can still contain an error.

When records disagree

We distinguish opening ceremonies from first guest operation, final performances from closure announcements, a whole venue from a later program, and a photograph’s date from its scan or upload date. Where a precise date or explanation is not established, the article narrows or qualifies the claim rather than inventing certainty.

Material changes — September 2026

Eagle Pines: corrected the conflation of Pete Dye’s course with Osprey Ridge, the course renamed Tranquilo.
River Country: distinguished the 2001 end of operation from the 2005 permanent-closure announcement; removed an unsupported exact closing day and speculative closure causes.
Adventurers Club: corrected The Edison’s opening to January 2018, with late-2017 soft-opening events distinguished.
Space Mountain, Mission: SPACE and The American Adventure: separated currently operating attractions from former versions instead of deriving a closed label from their category.
Discovery Bay: clearly labelled the proposal as Disneyland context, not a never-built Florida land.

Photographs require a separate rights record: the photographer, original source, license or explicit permission, depicted location and approximate date. Possessing an old print does not necessarily mean owning its copyright.

How corrections are recorded

Factual corrections update the article, its claim/source record and the visible modification date. Material changes are noted here. Spelling or layout edits are not presented as new historical discoveries. The original article publication date stays separate from the date of the events it describes.
