Disney Inn was leased to the Department of Defense in 1994 and had it's name changed to Shades of Green. The U.S. Government bought the resort in 1996. Shades of Green, like the Dolphin and Swan, are not staffed by Disney. Civilians are no longer allowed to stay in the resort. Parts of the old resort have been torn down and rebuilt.
Expansion
On January 4th, 2002, the U.S. Army announced it was going to double the size of Shades of Green due to the resort having occupancy rates of 90 to 99 percent. Construction started 3 months later.[2]
