Disney's Fairy Tale Wedding Pavilion is an area attached to the Grand Floridian used exclusively for weddings, re-exchanging of vows and other 'unions'. It is located on it's own island south of the resort and is the main wedding area for Walt Disney World. It is also considered to be one of the most exclusive wedding pavilions in the world. A basic wedding in the pavilion costs around $2900 for 18 guests or less.[2]
Design and Construction
The pavilion was designed by Disney Imagineers in a way that framed Cinderella Castle through a window behind the alter. It is also visible through the hedge archway outside the building.
Changes
In 2005, Walt Disney World no longer allowed characters to be present during the ceremony but actors dressed in wedding outfits, such as trumpeters, can be in the ceremony. [3]
