The Astro Orbiter opened up replacing the Star Jets ride in the new Tomorrowland rehab of 1994 (1994). It its located on top of the WEDWay PeopleMover station and there is an elevator to get to the loading area. The ride has an extra bit of a thrill since it is elevated and due to its proximity of the spinning planets and moons around you. With the planets and moons close by, it gives the illusion that the ride is faster than it really is. It also gives a great view of Tomorrowland
The ride is about the same height as the Star Jets and is shown in Stitch's Great Escape post show. The radius of the ride arms is 40 feet and it makes 11 rotations per minute. The ride will average 1.2 million miles per year.
